Solar Skyline Two

This photo represents one of the most spectacular evenings I have ever photographed. The cloud to sky ratio, the majestic colors, the open field that I was in, all these variables aligned for me this evening. I knew at the time that this combination would only happen a few times in my life. Visit my personal site: www.solargravity.com for more photos and subscribe to my newsletter.

Farm Bubbles

Dragonfly Series Two 2012

A perfect landing on the antenna of my car. This beauty actually waited patiently for me to get my camera and almost seems to pose for me. It was as if she was looking at me with equal curiosity. Both shots came about 20 seconds apart. The one is framed with the soft blue sky and the second was taken from a different angle. Then after she flew away she came back for another series. A true gift as I have always wanted to get a shot like this of these beautiful creatures. Tech Info: Shot with a my bestfriend my trusty EOS Canon 7D ( while dreaming secretly of a EOS 5D Mark II ) EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM 1/200 at f/5.6 ISO 100 No Flash Visit my personal site: www.solargravity.com for more photos and subscribe to my newsletter.

Bench of Mine

International Space Station #2

International Space Station #2 - Aug 2011 -4.0 magnitude The ISS (International Space Station) flying 250 statute miles overhead. (Notice the white streak in the image that's the ISS) This 57 second exposure captures the awe inspiring nature of our technical accomplishments. Traveling at 17,000 miles an hour the reflections off of the massive solar panels illuminate the football field size of the ISS making it the second brightest object in the night sky. The fade at the bottom of the steak is the ISS changing its angle to my position reflecting less sunlight.
